What Happens in Therapy?

Making changes is an intimidating process for all of us. My goal as your therapist is to join you, wherever you are, in this search for the life and relationships that you are trying to build. I do this by getting to know the things that you are passionate about and what drives you. As we move through the therapeutic process, we will work with the barriers and difficulties you have encountered, and help you move through life with a sense of strength, resilience, and connection to the ones you love.

In Therapy, I strive to create a safe context for us to engage the difficult parts of life. I approach my work with you from a place of respect and caring as I know that making changes in our lives and relationships can be difficult work.

What Is Your Background?

I have a Master of Science in Marriage & Family Therapy and Mental Health Counseling from Harding University. Beyond my graduate work,I also have additional training in trauma, and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy for couples.

I have a wealth of experience working with individuals, couples, and families in various contexts, including: in-home family therapy, inpatient crisis-stabilization, and outpatient talk therapy.

What Are Your Favorite Things To Do When You Are Not Counseling?

• Playing and writing music.
• Bouldering & rock climbing.
• Reading poetry or a good book.
• Finding new coffee shops and drinking too much coffee when I get there.

Ryan Specializes in:

1

Marriage and Couples Counseling

I believe that connection is one of the strongest parts of the human experience, and I believe that we are all capable of developing deeply connected relationships with those we love. Whether you are dealing with high-conflict, reconciling after infidelity, communication difficulties, or just wanting to feel closer, I am passionate about joining with my clients to help you foster a sense of love and connection in your relationship.

2

Family and Child Counseling

I  appreciate and understand the importance of all of the relationships within your family. I try to create space for your family to share struggles that you are experiencing and collaborate with each member of your family to build understanding and create lasting change.

3

Gender Identity

I have had the opportunity to work with clients who identify as transgender and nonbinary in the context of individual counseling and couples/family therapy. I care deeply about providing a safe environment for anyone who is searching for someone to join them in exploring their identity or navigating the difficult road of finding acceptance.
