What Are You Like As A Therapist?
It can be scary to think about coming to therapy- I get it! As a therapist, I create a safe, nonjudgmental, and empathetic environment. Throughout the course of therapy, I make sure that I am understanding each person and I will check-in with you to make sure that I am understanding you correctly.
Additionally, I don’t just focus on the problems. I also focus on what is working well. It can be easy to get caught-up in the negative aspects of your life because they’re so stressful. I help you process the stress and frustrations while helping you look for the things you are doing that are working well. I will support you in identifying your strengths and help you apply them to your stresses so you can work towards your goals and build hope for the future.
What Is Your Background?
I received a Bachelor’s in Psychology and Minor in Spanish from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Shortly after graduating, I sought out my Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy though Regis University. In addition to my education in psychology and family therapy, I have worked in a variety of different settings that have helped me to develop as a therapist. I have been employed as a substance abuse counselor, as a case manager in a school based setting, and as a case manager for a local mental health agency.
This experience has helped me to find my passion for couples and family work. My goal is to help relationships thrive by helping you build solutions, identify what is working well, and helping couples and families understand and connect with each other better to create long lasting change.
