Amanda Cummins is an intern Marriage and Family Therapist at The Marriage and Family Clinic. Amanda has successfully completed all of her coursework through the Master’s of Marriage and Family Therapy program at Regis University. Prior to starting her Master’s program at Regis University, Amanda graduated from University of Nevada, Las Vegas with a Bachelor’s in Psychology and a Minor in Spanish. During that time, Amanda was active in a research lab to understand the impacts of gender in different fields of study. This work has helped Amanda to clearly understand unique strengths and challenges that each gender experiences and the dynamics that gender issues may be contributing to conflict in your relationship. Amanda continues to recognize the importance of research and she strives to stay well-versed in recent studies to effectively support your goals for therapy.
Amanda’s background includes previous work as a substance abuse counselor, school-based case manager, community mental health case manager, and intern therapist with couples through The Regis Center for Counseling and Family Therapy. This experience has equipped Amanda to treat a large spectrum of difficulties you and your family are experiencing and help you.
Through Amanda’s personal and professional experience, Amanda has acquired the skills to help you in all your important relationships. Amanda takes the time to fully understand the difficulties that you are experiencing. She will help you to utilize your strengths and successes to promote positive changes in therapy. Amanda acknowledges that there is great power in understanding your emotions and how you are connecting with others in your relationships.
